Kai Cares RT – PCR test

If you or anyone you know has had COVID-19 since January 1 you may want to get a RT-PCR test before you travel instead of an Antigen test.

If you have had COVID you can take a RT-PCR test to verify your COVID infection. You can use these results for both entering the US and returning to Canada. This is called Proof Positive.

The Kai Care At Home RT-PCR test can be used to get PCR results all from the comfort of your own home. Its simple;  spit in the tube, mail the tube to Kai Labs using UPS package included in the kit, get your results sent to you 3-4 days later.

Proof Positive Requirements for the US

If you recently recovered from COVID-19, you may instead travel with documentation of recovery from COVID-19 (i.e., your positive COVID-19 viral test result on a sample taken no more than 90 days before the flight’s departure from a foreign country and a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel).

Proof Positive Requirements for the Canada

All travellers 5 years of age or older must provide proof of one of the following accepted types of molecular test results:

  • Negative: provide proof of a negative result taken within 72 hours of your scheduled flight or land entry
  • Previous positive: you no longer have symptoms and provide proof of a previous positive test result taken at least 10 calendar days and no more than 180 calendar days before entering Canada. Counting starts the day after your test.
    • For example, if your positive COVID-19 molecular test was taken on January 1, then January 11 would be the first day you could use it
    • January 11 would be the earliest scheduled departure date of your flight to Canada, or the first day you could use it to enter Canada by land or water
